Kingsview Optical is a precision optics manufacturer UK engineers and research teams have worked with for nearly three decades. Founded in 1996 and based in Rye, East Sussex, we have built our reputation on a straightforward principle: design and manufacture precision optical components that work, delivered on time, to specification, at a competitive price.
In the years since our founding, we have grown from a specialist lens polishing operation into a fully integrated optical manufacturing facility. Today, Kingsview offers the complete range of services required to take an optical design from concept to finished, tested, coated and assembled component all without the project ever leaving our site in East Sussex.
What Makes Kingsview Different
Most precision optics suppliers in the UK fall into one of two categories: distributors who hold stock and fulfil standard orders, or design consultancies who hand off manufacture to third parties. Kingsview sits in neither camp. We design, manufacture, coat and assemble in-house — and that integration has real consequences for our customers.
When a design engineer at Kingsview is working on a new optical system in Zemax, they are a two-minute walk from the CNC lines that will produce it. Tolerances get sanity-checked against real manufacturing experience, not software simulations. Glass choices are influenced by what we know about polish quality and reject rates in practice, not just what the design software says. The result is optical designs that are genuinely manufacturable and optical components that perform as specified in the real world.
Location and Facilities
Our facility is located at Harbour Road, Rye, East Sussex, TN31 7TE. We welcome visits from customers and prospective customers — seeing our manufacturing floor, metrology laboratory and cleanroom assembly areas in person is often the most effective way to understand what we can deliver.
